FLOAT 2022’s CANCELLATION POLICY

If you register for FLOAT 2022 on or before January 3rd, 2022:

If you find yourself in the position to where you can no longer attend FLOAT 2022 after completing your payment, you may still cancel your registration to FLOAT 2020 with the understanding that you are subject to a cancellation penalty of $75.00 US if you paid in one lump sum or $150.00 US if you registered under the $599 convention payment structure.

If you have made any additional purchases such as a FLOATbook, optional classes and the like, all of those fees paid are subject to a 100% refund and are not subject to penalty. As policy of the convention, if you cancel your registration to FLOAT 2022, you would not be able to purchase an Academic FLOATbook regardless, so any such purchase of this item would be automatically refunded.

Please note that the fee charged by PlanetReg.com once you register for FLOAT 2022 is non-refundable.

ANY AND ALL REGISTRATION CANCELLATION REFUND REQUESTS FOR FLOAT 2022 MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN JANUARY 3, 2022.

After January 3rd, 2022:

If you are unable to attend FLOAT 2020 for any reason after January 3rd, 2022, including but not exclusive to medical issues, family emergencies, business decisions and the like, while you can cancel your registration for the convention, you will not be entitled to any refund at all from your registration fees.

If you need to cancel your registration after January 3rd, 2022, you are entitled to a refund of any additional purchases you may have made including Master and Bonus Classes, Academic FLOATbook, souvenirs, etc. However, you are also not eligible for any refunds of your PlanetReg.com charges or fees.

Transfers and Roll-Overs

Due to growing abuse factors over the past conventions, FLOAT no longer allows delegates to sell their registrations independently to others. If you are unable to attend FLOAT 2022, you need to follow the cancellation policy.

Along these lines, delegates are not allowed to sell or transfer their enrollment in optional classes at FLOAT 2022, whether it be Master Classes, Bonus Classes or Mega-Bonus Classes. If a delegate wishes to withdraw from a class or is unable to attend the convention, they should notify FLOAT management so we can arrange for a refund of said charges paid for those classes and your name released from the attendee list in that particular class(es).

Delegates are also not allowed to sell or transfer their access to the Designer Awards Gala to another attendee or guest. If a delegate at FLOAT wishes to bring a guest to the Designer Awards Gala, a guest pass needs to be purchased from the FLOAT management team prior to January 15th, 2022.

The only exception to the transfer policy is that a company is allowed to transfer a registration from one employee to another within their own company. For example, if you purchase a registration for an employee who no longer works for you as FLOAT draws closer, you can transfer that registration into the name of a different employee within your own company. However, under no circumstances will you be allowed to transfer that registration to anyone outside of your company.

Similar to our transfer policy, due to growing issues of abuse over the past two conventions, FLOAT has had to eliminate it’s rollover policy. As of February 4th, 2019, FLOAT no longer allows delegates to rollover their registrations for the next convention should they be unable to attend. This is why our cancellation deadline has been extended well into January; this will allow people to collect at least a partial refund of their registration fees if they are unable to attend.

While we completely understand that you may have a very valid reason to have to cancel your registration, you also need to understand that FLOAT is dependent upon the registration fees from our delegates to cover the operating costs of the convention. Just as you have to have cancellation policies with your own clients, we do as well. The two-week deadline is absolutely our “line in the sand” as it were, so please understand that any such reasoning for these policies is not personal but rather a professional and business decision that must be made in order to protect the operation as well as the longevity of the FLOAT Convention series.

Partial Payments

Due to the COVID-19 crisis of 2020, FLOAT has brought back the payment plan option for the 2022 convention. The “75 for 75” program has it’s own set of rules that are signed off on in the agreement form that was available until June 1, 2020.

If a delegate wishes to enroll in the standard payment plan for FLOAT 2022, they automatically default to the $599.00 price point and are required to make a minimum first payment of $150.00 US plus the $9.00 PlanetReg.com fee. Delegates will then have until January 3, 2022, to complete their payments for FLOAT 2022.

By enrolling in the payment plan process, you understand that your initial payment of $150.00 US will serve as your cancellation fee should you have to cancel your registration for FLOAT 2022 after enrolling in this program. In addition, you will be unable to collect your $9 US PlanetReg.com registration charge as well.

Until a delegate has completed their payments towards FLOAT 2022, they are not allowed to enroll in any optional classes, nor make additional purchases towards the convention, including but not limited to the Academic FLOATbook, master classes, bonus classes, the FLOATation pass and more. In addition, delegates enrolled in the payment plan who have not completed their payments are ineligible from entering any of FLOAT competitions, including the FLOATees, until their registration fee is paid in full.

PLEASE NOTE: In the event that FLOAT has to enact a COVID-19 registration restriction due to social distancing issues, we at FLOAT reserve the right to cancel a registration that remains unpaid by November 1, 2021. In the event your registration is cancelled due to COVID-19 limitations, then you will be eligible for a 100% refund of all money paid to FLOAT (PlanetReg.com fee is not included in this refund).

FLOAT’S OFFICIAL COVID-19 POLICY AS IT STANDS RIGHT NOW

As of August 1, 2020, FLOAT has created a possible safety protocol program with regard to COVID-19. THESE POLICIES MAY GO INTO EFFECT SHOULD THE NEED ARISE.

CLICK HERE FOR FLOAT 2022’S COVID-19 PROTOCOL PLAN FOR THE WORST CASE IN-PERSON SCENARIO

Again, the full protocol policy shown above is based on a worst case scenario. Final decisions on FLOAT’s COVID-19 protocol policy will be decided upon as we get closer to the convention and will be based solely on the state of the virus.

As noted above in the Partial Payments and Deposits section, FLOAT reserves the right to change the payment deadline in the event that social distancing issues have to be put into effect.

In the event that social distancing is required to host the event, FLOAT will have a mask and/or face shield policy in effect. All delegates will be expected to wear a mask over their nose and mouth whenever they are in the convention space. If you have a medical reason as to why you cannot wear a mask (medical documentation will be required), then you must wear a face shield. This will be a zero tolerance policy; you will comply with the mask/face shield policy or you will not attend this convention. Should this policy be put in place, all delegates will be issued one cloth mask upon check in the convention.

By attending FLOAT, you understand that there is an inherent risk to exposure to COVID-19 simply being in a public space, let alone a convention. As such, you understand and agree that by attending FLOAT 2022, you are doing so at your own risk. FLOAT is taking reasonable and responsible steps towards hosting this event safely, but we cannot keep you free and clear of all risk. Therefore, you also acknowledge that by attending FLOAT 2022, should you become infected with COVID-19, you cannot and shall not hold FLOAT, it’s producers, staff or sponsors responsible for such exposure. YOU ARE DOING SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Other Issues or Policies

The FLOAT Executive Producer and production team reserve the right to make changes to the cancellation policy as needed.

FLOAT 2022 Payment Plan Rules

In order to be enrolled in the FLOAT 2022 Payment Plan, you MUST adhere to these rules and policies:

1. You will be required to download, fill out and return the Payment Plan agreement form. No payments will be accepted until the form is properly filled out and returned to [email protected]

2. If a delegate wishes to enroll in the standard payment plan for FLOAT 2022, they automatically default to the $599.00 price point and are required to make a minimum first payment of $150.00 US plus the $9.00 PlanetReg.com fee.

 3. Please note that this $159.00 fee is NON-REFUNDABLE. In the event that you cancel your registration to FLOAT 2022, you will not receive any of that initial payment back; it will be kept as a processing fee.

 4. Delegates will then have until November 1, 2021, to complete their payments in full for FLOAT 2022.

5. If a delegate does not pay off the remaining balance due before November 1, 2021, their spot at FLOAT 2022 will be forfeit and their registration will be cancelled.

6.In the event that a delegate fails to complete the payment schedule, they can request a partial refund of the money they paid to FLOAT in the plan. But again, by enrolling in the payment plan process, you understand that your initial payment of $150.00 US will serve as your cancellation fee should you have to cancel your registration for FLOAT 2022 or be cancelled due to non-payment after enrolling in this program. In addition, you will be unable to collect your $9 US PlanetReg.com registration charge as well.

7. Until a delegate has completed their payments towards FLOAT 2022, they are not allowed to enroll in any optional classes, nor make additional purchases towards the convention, including but not limited to the Academic FLOATbook, master classes, bonus classes, the FLOATation pass and more. 8. Delegates not fully paid for FLOAT 2022 cannot reserve a discounted hotel room at the host hotel. That is reserved only for those attendees who are fully committed to the convention.

9. PLEASE NOTE: In the event that FLOAT has to enact a COVID-19 registration restriction due to social distancing issues, we at FLOAT reserve the right to cancel a registration that remains unpaid by November 1, 2021.
